Understanding Metrics
Tokens
Tokens approximate the amount of content processed:
- 1 token ≈ 4 characters
- Short messages = fewer tokens
- Long documents = many tokens
Sessions
A session is a continuous interaction:
- Starts when user opens AI platform
- Ends after period of inactivity
- One session may have many messages
Active Users
Users who had at least one interaction:
- Daily active users (DAU)
- Weekly active users (WAU)
- Monthly active users (MAU)
