Account Setup

This guide covers the various ways to create and configure your Containment.AI account.

Sign Up Options

Email & Password

  1. Go to app.containment.ai
  2. Click Sign up here
  3. Enter your work email address and create a password
  4. Check your inbox for a verification email
  5. Click the verification link to activate your account
caution

Personal email domains (gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com, etc.) cannot create new organizations. Use your work email to get started.

Microsoft SSO

  1. Click the Microsoft button on the login page
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work account
  3. Authorize Containment.AI to access your basic profile
  4. You'll be automatically signed in and your work domain will be verified

Google SSO

  1. Click the Google button on the login page
  2. Sign in with your Google Workspace account
  3. Authorize Containment.AI to access your basic profile
  4. You'll be automatically signed in and your work domain will be verified

Organization Setup

New Organizations

When you sign up with a new domain, you'll create a new organization:

  1. Complete the onboarding wizard (see Onboarding Guide)
  2. Your organization will be created with you as the first admin
  3. Configure initial settings and policies

Joining Existing Organizations

If your email domain matches an existing organization:

  1. You'll see a prompt that an organization exists for your domain
  2. Choose to:
    • Request Access - Send a request to the organization admin
    • Use Demo Mode - Explore with our Demo Corporation sandbox

Demo Corporation

The Demo Corporation is a pre-configured sandbox environment where you can:

  • Explore the full dashboard without affecting production data
  • See sample alerts, policies, and audit events
  • Test configurations before applying them to your organization

Account Security

Password Requirements

If using email/password authentication:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • At least one number
  • At least one special character

Two-Factor Authentication

Enterprise plans support enforcing 2FA through your identity provider:

  • Configure in your IdP (Okta, Azure AD, etc.)
  • Enable SSO enforcement in Settings > Account
  • All users must authenticate through SSO

Session Management

  • Sessions automatically refresh to keep you signed in
  • Inactive sessions expire after 24 hours
  • Use Sign Out to end your session securely

Profile Settings

Access your profile settings from the user menu in the top-right corner:

Personal Information

  • Display Name - How you appear to other admins
  • Email - Your login email (cannot be changed)
  • Avatar - Pulled from your SSO provider or set manually

Preferences

  • Theme - Light, Dark, or System preference
  • Notifications - Email notification settings
  • Timezone - For accurate timestamps in audit logs

Password Reset

If you've forgotten your password:

  1. Click Forgot password? on the login page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your inbox for the reset link
  4. Click the link and set a new password

Password reset is only available for email/password accounts. SSO users should reset through their identity provider.

Account Deletion

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Settings > Account
  2. Scroll to the Danger Zone section
  3. Click Delete Account
  4. Confirm by typing your email address

Account deletion is permanent. Your data will be retained for 30 days for compliance purposes, then permanently deleted.
